Sports
This region offers both winter and summer sports. The Pyrenees have long been considered one of the top areas for skiing open from November through to March, with numerous ski resorts which also cater for other winter sports, including snow boarding, often in brilliant sunshine and always with awe-inspiring views. (Click here for up to date Snow Report)
Summer sports include horseriding, kayak, canoe, white-water rafting, go-karts, waterparks, walking, climbing, swimming and cycling to name a few. There are hundreds of beautiful unspoilt mediterranean beaches to relax in the sunshine.

The local wine caves (of which there are too many to mention them all) can be visited and sampled and of course the champagne of Limoux must not be missed. There are some excellent French restaurants in Aude with menus to suit everyone. The sleepy villages become bustling with excitement over the summer season as the fetes commence, with music, dancing, meals and parties in the open air village squares around the region, frequently lasting into the small hours.
The region is also steeped in Cathare history with hundreds of excitig chateaux to visit.
